Assuming you aren't kidding... the LS series was one of the best made, at least in its time. It was used in broadcast and studio equipment. So it should be very good for a preamp. Though I have not used one since the late 1970's...Data I have (http://www.pmillett.com/file_downloads/UTC_data.pdf) says 0mA DC, so I guess it's designed for parallel feed.
These things are worth a fortune these days. You could sell a pair on e-bay for between $300 and $500, I think.
