The ESR meter suggestion I agree 100% with ;) Every serious hobbyist should have one . I went and bought a Dick Smith kit . It was a joy to build and is a joy to use . Also very interesting to see those old oil caps and computer electrolytics testing perfectly :) Some of the modern far eastern (Novar etc crap) electrolytics are very flaky indeed . 'Low Z' my arse !cheers
