D. T. Williamson's circuit used a triode gain stage direct-coupled to a split-load (cathodyne) phase inverter. Then a differential gain stage, and triode-wired KT66 or 6L6 outputs. He wasn't too fond of Hafler's "utralinear" connection, especially when it was being applied to HIS circuit.
