Allen, I took a measurement at 1kHz and came up with 31nV at the top of a temperature compensated Zener (6.3V). That's better, actually, than I remembered. On the other side of the simple R/C filter (tied directly to the error amp), the reading is 1.3nV. That last number is also my measurement floor this morning; it could be improved by moving everything into one of our Faraday cages, but they're occupied right now. At any rate, I think it's safe to assume that the reference isn't the limiting factor.Thanks for the info on the heaters. Given the simplicity and low cost of a series LM317 or DN2540, this sounds like a useful technique.
