RioSounds like an arc.
Open the bottom of the amp and look for signs of an arc.
Discoloration or black spot from HT to ground probably.
And insulate offending situation.
OR
It could have been a piece of solder broke loose and caused this.
If so then it was a one time thing and the solder was vaporized.DanL
