I have used three sets of Hammond OPT's in the past in chronological order:1650H in a pair of Mullard 5-20 DIY amps.
1645 in a DIY stereo push-pull 6F6 amp (Olson amp circa 1946).
1609 in a self designed pair of smallish DIY push pull monoblocks using 6227/E80L tubes. The Hammond's all sound rolled-off in the lower frequencies. The upper treble Hammond sparkle is not as pronounced with the Edcor's, but the Edcors sound sound better to me (and my local audio circle).
Despite the fact that the Edcor is only a single secondary design and the Hammond is far more flexible with a 4-8-16 Ohm secondary.
Bye,
Rich
