You gotta note the use of "the right ones in the right place". Not all BGs are created equal.
What seems to be of general consensus is that those that do try them as stated usually keep them. For the most part, those that are detractors have usually only tried the cheapos in the wrong place i.e as cathode bypass.
But IME, most detractors haven't tried them at all.
