I think what you are saying is that a 6.3V 2A transformer will only be "man enough" to supply 1A in a doubler PS.
I have a secondary DCR of 0.01 ohms indicated which I thought indicated sufficient "beef" in the trafo.
However I see that it gives almost exactly 2 x Vs when the current drawn is only 125mA.

I'm a "hollow-state" man so never feel confident when dealing with SS devices and I have never used a voltage doubler in practice. I wanted to see whether it was possible to get 6VDC @ 1A from a 6.3V @ 2A winding.
I guess the answer must be "no" :o(
