Hi, I'm Hank in Austin, and build speakers for fun. I read this and was very interested in signing up, so I went to the web site and read about Lonestarmusic. Looks like a great place. I then read about the class and at the end it says that signup REQUIRES the purchase of that tube amp kit from Lonestar's store. I do not need a beginner amp kit. I have my H.H. Scott LK48-B that I bought and built when I was about 16 or 17. I also have an H.H. Scott 222C that I bought off eBay and have re-capped. I also bought an LK150 tuner. I would sign up for the class not for the soldering and assembly instructions, but the other aspects of the class, like learning more about tube amp design and vinyl (I'm going to buy a turntable soon), etc. I also need some technical advice about wiring in a replacement power transformer for the 222C. I bought a Hammond monster, but one of the taps is different than the original Scott. I'm disappointed.
