To paraphrase Einstein, not too simple or it will not work.Triode wired KT88s will give you 30 W. and stay in Class "A" almost all of the time. By the time Class "B" operation sets in, things will be NOISY.
An ECC99 wired as a differential phase splitter that has a CCS in its "tail" will have NO problem in driving the KT88s. A SMALL amount of loop NFB from the O/P trafo secondary to the non-inverting grid of the splitter is good for damping factor and corrects O/P trafo aberations.
Pick a not so linear triode, like the 12AT7 or the 6J6, for the voltage gain block. Don't bypass the cathode bias resistor. The small amount of 2nd HD produced mates WELL with PP finals, which cancel internally generated even order HD.
