I don't remember much, but what kind of cap and what value is in your unit now? Also what's the serial ni=umber as the 8417 went through many variations.First 8417 used the 7247 input tube (one per chassis), later units used the 12ax7/12AU7 inputs. Then there was the two rectifier tbe version vs the single rectifier tube, and then there was the 8417G version, the last version which was designed for GE 8417 tubes.
