Ok I answered this one first so It sort of may sound like a dumb question since you already sort of answered it above but it seems strange to me why vintage circuits often add this cap.Thats what made me wonder if there might be another purpose for this cap besides blocking dc as most any source is going to have a have a cap on the output anyway.I thought maybe it could be a low frequency filter..
