Here's a strange one for you....

I have breadboarded the JE labs line stage and am using a power supply from another similar preamp I built to try it out. When I bring the B+ up to where it should be nothing happens, but when I turn it off, just before the power caps are drained completly it starts playing weakly for a split second or two! What the heck is going on?
