I have to ask: Why are you almost holding your breath? IMHO, the JAN-Philips 12AT7 is a competent tube but nothing to write home about. Last time I looked, NOS ones were available by the truckload for maybe less than the cost you are quoting for the Groove Tubes version. (But then again, I have not checked price or availability for at least 2-3 years.) Of course, if you are enamored of the the Philips, that's a perfectly valid opinion too. I like the Sylvania Gold Pin 6201; now THAT's a tube that's hard to find. I actually liked some Chinese-made "Billington Gold" selected ECC81s better than either of those two, but the Billingtons don't last very long in-circuit, nor are they now easy to get.
