http://www.marchandelec.com/xm26.htmlI think Mike below hit the nail on the head. They simply suffered too much heat from the solder bath. Like I said I float my home made PC boards in a solder pot for 5 seconds with a skin coat of liquid flux. This also solderplates the traces which not only protects the bare copper but also makes the trace able to carry even more current.
Never have damaged a part before an that includes chips.
