Converting a CJ PV-10 to a PV-Erik

Is making add-on power supply boards for a PV-10 to give each tube it's own dedicated supply.

Much of this is UncleStu's fault, he showed me some mods including adding a diode to the supply of each tube to increase separation. This got me curious and I looked at hte PV-12 supply, and compared it to the PV-10.

The general theory I'm working on is to turn the on-board supply to a "pre-regulator" like they did in the PV-12, and then use two additional PCB boards as the B+ supply regulators, one for each side.

In addition, there's a resistor between the two 20uF supply caps which can now be shorted out. This will reduce the power supply impedance.

We'll see if any of this does any good. Anyone near Boston, MA have an unmodded PV-10 to compare to? Wouldn't it suck if after all this work I managed to make a CJ sound like an AR? Nothing against AR, but it's totally different sounding. There's only so much you can mod a piece of equipment before you turn it into something else.

The new power supply boards are sized to hold 4uF Solen caps, as well as 0.1 uf Multicap bypass caps.

I'll post pics on my blog when I get the boards back.

DOn't worry Stu, I havn't forgotten your filament mod. :) It's definitely on my list! Thanks again for your help!
