You are right of course and low DCR has been mentioned more than once. Obviously it's not just about low DCR though; it's also about the need to select a power tranny that can deliver the maximum load current, read VA rating (and yes, without sag) with sufficient headroom to cater for low mains voltage conditions. To this end low voltage drop can minimise the problem under maximum load. Where I live for instance it's not uncommon for the nominal voltage of 240V to fluctuate from 255V down to 205V. On one occasion it got down to 195V!Without regulation things will always be compromised to some extent at those low voltages but with a good design it should be limited to power and not sonics. To use your example, the pool may be low in water but buoyancy should still be the same.
It's also important to point out that a power tranny that sags under load will affect amps that fluctuate wildly under peak current demand such as Class B / AB PP amps compared to SETS which are fairly constant in current demand.
I think most inmates just assume the use of an overrated power tranny.
