Best cheap amp for mod?

Hello there

I am more of a DIY builder than a buy-and-sell enthusiast, but I'm so busy and lazy now. I'm getting old.

As many of you guys know, most teasing part of tube amplifier building is getting a proper chassis. So I'm thinking of modifying a ready-made but cheap amplifier, used or new Chinese. I will basically do some bias adjustment and replace caps, resistors, and trannies.

Is there any already known amplifier good for mod? Or merely which one has the potential for the best result?
