im glad you know the difference between listening to capacitors and listening to Music. i suppose you are right on the money with "they get out of the way of the music"
i think passive is the word i would use.
the previous listings on this subject have mentioned that expensive caps change the music one way or another, depending on what sound you are looking for.
i prefer the pure signal with no colouration. i got some mullard 88's for that player somewhere in my boxes of odd's n sods. let you know when i have found them out.
