I never run anything critical off a GFI, they're always weak and glitchy. You mean every outlet in your pad is a GFI? I thought they just used them within 3 feet or so of water (sink, like that).It might work, though. That's what it does, remove the green wire from the ground loop. I've seen guys use up to 100Ω, but that looks a little dangerous to me with a power circuit. You could safely go as high as 10Ω, though. If anything's not clear about this config, let me know. Green AC wire goes to chassis only, white AC wire to transformer neutrals only, black AC wire to fuse and then switch, audio circuit and power supply circuit grounds connected at one point only, audio ground dropped to chassis ground at one point only, with the resistor.
