Home Tape Trail

Reel to reel, cassette and other analogue tape formats.

I think i'll only even hack around with 3.25 ips for Radio..

..on not so great tape, etc.

Was your comment a caution as far as keeping the deck running well or more consistent? i.e. will it suffer performance issues if i go between the two speeds?

Rest assured, i just dont see much of a point using stuff like 406/407 and better for 3.25. I don't want to tweak anybody, but that's just me. Whatever running time benefits i'll get, the audiophool in me will want better sound and it will annoy the crap out've me to sit and listen to something less. I would like to play with the 3.25 a little though.. Who knows.. maybe i'l get a good synergy with 3.25 and a certain taoe and it will be what i'll use for something like a long running party mix.

Ugh.. would've been so much easier to just get a Bose system and called it a day ;-)
