Hello.

(if I remember correctly)

The problem may arise from two different things acting together.

1) Loosen belt from the eject mechanism.

2) This mechanism doesn't lift up the little pins that touch the tape to detect what type is it (Cr, Metal, Fe). This pins actually hold the tape
and prevent it from being ejected freely.

Your problem may have another symptom: The door doesn't totally closes, or needs help to get completely closed. It's a common problem on these decks, well known to me. I've been unable to completely solve it on my deck.

It's not difficult to open your deck and see the mechanism working, but it's not a simple mechanims.
