I am so disappointed; the $50.00 I spent having the pinch roller resurfaced didn’t solve the problem! The tape is still loosing contact with the heads and swooshing back and forth where the capstan and pinch roller contact, it’s like they are not making “full†contact to hold the tape taunt. The service tech has a 90-service guarantee, but it’s likely he is going to tell me next I have to get a new capstan? I paid $288 for the Dokorder plus the $125 for the broken belt repair and $50 for the resurfacing of the pinch roller. The Dokorder 7100 is absolutely gorgeous but I have only been able to play it for 3 days when first purchased, and the only three tapes after it was repaired. That is why I bought the Realistic TR-3000 as being a New In Box unit, everything should work and I can finally listen to all my reel to reel tapes! Is anyone using the TR-3000 or the Teac X-3 and what do you think? I will be my backup deck unless it outperforms the Dokorder,
I also looked at some 2 Track decks for Doc B’s upcoming tapes, but for now just getting to listen to my 4 Track tapes is my number one priority.
The TR-3000 was only $155.22 shipped.
