If you can solder, you can fix this. The Shack has a 12 volt bulb that looks just like the OEM and fits, it's in their bulb drawer. It already has insulation on the wires. Just shove it in as far as it can go, trim to lenght, solder and you are good to go. I have used at least a dozen of these and they work perfect. Good luck.
