Nobody is biting so I'll just throw out a few basic things:The heads on these guys are often worn. Also, make sure the rubber on the pinch wheels is still in good shape. A good cleaning of the tape path just can't hurt, even if it looks pristine. Also, I'm assuming you don't have the wherewithall to do it yourself - a tape machine that has been shipped you should have a qualified tech check to make sure the head alignment is OK.
