or you are next door to a broadcasting antennae or live on a stage with a 3 phase generator and brute arc lights or your listening room is equipped with SCR dimmers that dump a lot of trash to ground. Transformers and balanced lines can solve RF/EMI issues, otherwise they mostly detract rather than add IMHO. Ray Hughes
