Knackered Nak DR3 ?

Reel to reel, cassette and other analogue tape formats.

My DR3 was playing tapes quite happly when all of a sudden it started to make a high pitched squeeling noise from the transport (not in the audio chain). After stopping and restarting it was ok for about 10mins, then i had a repeat of the above. this happened a few times. I changed tape but it did the same, then the speed of play slowed, so i stopped the tape, checked it was ok put the tape back in did a FF the REW. Now it wont play a tape at all it just chunks back and forth between rewind and play every half a second.
Anyone experianced this problem before ? OR knows of the fix?
Help would be much appreciated.
