Tape Deck,Equalizer to computer hook up.

Reel to reel, cassette and other analogue tape formats.

I am not sure if this can or should be done. I am using my Pioneer CT-F9191 to transfer tape to my computer to make disks. Can I, or do I need to use my 10 Band Stereo equalizer in line here? EQ has a tape monitor function.
New to this, but I am tring to make some demo CD,s for the band I am in. (on the cheap of course).
