Computer Controlled Cassette Deck info wanted!

I picked up the other day at 1 of our local thrift stores a Sharp RT-3388A Computer Controlled Stereo cassette Deck for $3.99 with the original owners manual!I have not tried to record with it yet but it seems to play fine and all the lights are working,along with the clock! Anyone else have this deck or have used 1? Owners manual said it weights 19 lbs.!Also on the spec sheet under Semi Conductors it reads 1-LSI(Large Scale Integrated Circuit)
5-IC(Integrated Circuit)
51-Transistors
29-Diode
2-LED
Wow & Flutter:0.055% W.R.M.S.
There was more of course but you get the general ideal.
Does anyone know what year these were made? Are they considered junk?
