In Reply to: Is there any 'agreed-upon' color coding scheme for the signal leads coming out of rec/PB heads? Any help appreciated < posted by Damián on January 24, 2006 at 06:43:15:
...unless this is a pro deck like an Ampex AG440 or a Studer in which case they are may be balanced. The hot or signal lead is generally traced to a input grid in the case of tube or gate in the case of a FET or base in case of a BJT. There are no established color codes. If they are balanced then they go to an input transformer like in the AG440. You have to have a schematic! Good luck! Ray
