Hi,I just acquired an old Marantz PMD101 cassette recorder; it seems to be a decent. solid machine. However, I’m having a problem using it with my Sony ECM-909 mic (I bought this mic with my now defunct Sony WMD6). When I record with that mic on the Marantz, I get a very loud hum that sometimes completely drowns out the sound. When I try recording with an old cheap mic (Sony F-10S), there is no hum at all, but this mic doesn’t give me as true & clear a sound. Does anyone have any ideas about what to do so that my nice Sony mic and my nice Marantz recorder will get along together?
Thanks,
Ashevoix
