I have a semi-functional (1 channel works) Ampex PR-10. Not the tape transport, just the playback/record electronics. I would like to convert it to a mic preamp.I am mostly a hi fi guy, and this is my first foray into technical aspects of recording and microphones and stuff, but the few mic pre circuits I have seen look neat.
Any suggestions on how to go about this conversion, or links to similar projects?
And will this be worth it, or should I scavenge it for parts to build something original?
