I always liked the sound of Maxell XLII-S for type II,to my ears they have a warmer more natural sound with a sweeter top end.I also like there shells and mechanism's better.TDK SA-X always seemed a little to bright and harsh sounding to me with a bit of echo in the midrange.XLII-S for me,Take care.
