Hi, Fellow open reel enthusiasts!I have decided to finally sell off my collection of mid 1950's 2-track open reel tapes. From reading this forum, I believe that among the readership there are a number of you who collect and/or desire such tapes.
Since I have favored the use of AUDIOGON over eBay for many years now, I was contemplating its use for posting them for sale or otherwise, auctioning them.
The tapes are a mixture of pop music of the time, symphonic titles and some jazz and come in two formats. Some are for the earlier "staggered-head" configuration and are clearly marked as such, whereas the rest are in "inline" or "stacked-head" format, which became the standard of the industry after about 1955.
My interest is to determine among those of you who might want to acquire some of these tapes whether you would be willing to look for them in Audiogon under the "software / other" classification, since Audiogon has not yet implemented an alternative category for vintage open reel tapes.
I sure would like them to do so, but for now, this is the only option they offer. You can see that I am rather fond of AUDIOGON!
Suggestions or recommendations are welcome!
Thanks in advance
