You can make a digital recording sound like analog tape by using a digital recorder to copy analog tape. I have a number of hi-rez 24/192 digital copies of high-speed analog tape and they sound absolutely awesome. They exhibit no digital artifacts at all, but sound identical to analog tape. They actually sound noticeably better than digital copies of vinyl.
