I record at 24/88.2 and never leave a site without making a CD copy first (not an audio CD, a data file CD).
DAT is ancient history. Flash in the pan. Cumbersome, limited. When it was new and cool, I wanted an HHB. Fortunately, my limited funds were spent on preamps and microphones. And my 2-track 15 ips Revox A77 is still running just fine, as is my razor blade editing tool.
