I suppose that some of the new Mini-systems with MP3 function have both,
a card reader (Secure Digital, Compact-Flash,etc) or USB, and a tape recorder you can use to record what is being played from MP3.But, I'm in the same case than you, and The only way you can make a decent recording is by using good tape recorders. Those modern "mini-component" make no quality recordings.
I myself have about 6 tapes connected to my integrated amplifier, some of them are chained however. The digital output from the pc is converted to analog in a DCC player and sent to the amplifier. I can choose what Deck does the recording, and later I listen to the tapes on the car.
I can hear huge differences from good tape recorders to bad ones.
I'm from spain too. Valencia.
