Home Tape Trail

Reel to reel, cassette and other analogue tape formats.

Here's what I do

I use one of those little abrasive cutoff wheels in a Dremel to make a notches at the corners. Then I just carefully pry the sucka apart with a screwdriver. Done it a few times so far with decent results. Sometimes they pop apart right at the seam, other times they just break. But it gets the job done pretty quickly. You might even tape the end shut so dust doesn't get on the tape & cut it all the way round the seam. Those wheels zip through pretty quick.

Rotovator's idea has more finesse, though.

Good luck,
Bobbo :-)
