Re: Dolby C tapes played back on Dolby B

Dolby C gives slightly more extension and less hiss, but at the expense of a slightly more controlled and less free sound if that makes sense (on Nakamichi 682ZX with all the great metal tapes--but not using the heavy expensive metal or plastic body ones).

I taped good FM Stereo orchestra on C, but nowadays ask the person whether they have B or C and use my Sony dual deck to help compatibility.

My old Dolby C masters still sound sterling 15-20 years later.
