It all depends on the quality of the deck you are using. I find that if I try Dolby C on a low end deck and try to play the tape back on another higher end deck, the results are not good. For this reason, I only use Dolby B for everything. For the music I listen to (jazz) I cannot hear the difference from dolby B to C.
