There are several variables in this situation. I'm tempted to offer some ideas, but the only one I can confidently offer is to find a qualified Studer/Revox tape machine professional. And I don't mean an electronics or stereo or tape deck technician. I mean, and can you hear me now(?), a qualified Studer/Revox tape machine professional.

As a start, you can call pretty much any legacy pro studio in Nashville, and they'll be able to give you some references to individuals, since up until several years ago, Studer had their U.S. repair facility there.
