I read the reviews of the 'Pioneer Elite CT-05D' (as per bobp's suggestion of dual cassette decks in the $350 range) and they're all pretty positive. This unit would probably suit my needs, but dual-decks do tend to break and it's a pain in the butt getting them repaired. This Pioneer unit has a pretty good track record (whatever that's worth) plus a 2-year warranty.
But...if I do decide to go, as some recommended, with two 3-head decks, would I have to buy used? I'm a little leery of second-hand decks: they don't have odometers. What should you look for when buying on e-bay?
