I have a Nak BX-300 cassette deck which has an apparently common problem. If it runs for a while, it regularly stops because the takeup reel fails to turn and a small loop of tape extends on the right side of the cassette.I replaced the idler tire, but the problem still exists. With the top off of the deck, I can see that the motor just stops dead after a while.
Jeff from eslabs.com said the motor needs replacing and they can sell me one. However, they do not provide instructions on how to do the swap.
Has anyone here ever swapped out this motor? Does anyone have this service manual who could tell me what the basic steps are?
Basically, any help at all on this would be appreciated. The Naks all seem easy enough to work on, but I'd still like some technical guidance on this before attempting it cold. -- Thanks in advance . . .
