Teac 2340R help

Reel to reel, cassette and other analogue tape formats.

My old Pioneer RT-707 needed too much money to repair($450) so I found a good used and working Teac 2340R for $100. Everything is good, sounds terrific, makes me realize how much work the RT-707 was in need of. But one VU meter is non-functional. Has anyone changed a VU meter on one of these Teac decks? Seems fairly straightforward, remove front panel, change meter. Anything I am missing that I need to know?
