I'm fed up with Audiogon. They're as bad as the Kremlin when it comes to preventing criticism of their site and allowing a free and open discussion. Aren't we the ones who add value to their fiefdom by offering our comments, our reviews, our transaction details, our virtual systems, etc.? What does Audiogon actually contribute other than a nice looking interface?

Classifieds -> they have a huge amount of traffic, but it goes hand-in-hand with a nice interface.
Online BlueBook -> this is so badly out of date that it's worthless. Actually, it's a disservice.
Forums -> members offer all the content. Audiogon offers nothing.
Virtual Systems -> it's not unique to Agon, but their interface is nice.
Product Reviews -> members offer all the content. Audiogon offers nothing.
Manufacturer Info -> this can easily be found on the web.
Feedback System -> only useful if feedback is present.

Audiogon doesn't contribute anything that can't be duplicated at Audio Asylum. A lot of people are pissed off about their new fee structure, but I'm more upset about their heavy-handed control in the forums.

I want to spend more time at AA, but the interface is so cluttered and unfriendly. It needs help. How can we petition the people who manage AA to consider an overhaul? I realize this is a major endeavor, but it needs to be done. If we can improve the usability of the site it will attract more people. My background is graphic design. I'd be happy to help if that's what is needed.
