Or just generate the home page dynamically rather than having multiple static pages. If you're doing that on the individual pages, it should be no different.Are all of the pages, including all of the different views of forum indexes static on the server, or is any of it generated out of a database? I'm really amazed that a site of this size, with its level of daily activity could continue to function like that without melting down. I'd be interested in knowing how exactly it's organized. Does each post get placed into a discrete file on the server? When a new post is added, do you generate a bunch of new forum indexes (for each of the different views)? That's the part I'd think would be really hairy.
