yes. I always pay with a credit card. Since I knew him, I paid with a money order. I do not recommend it either.

If he does not agree to the arrangements, I will give all the details including name/ company etc.

His big thing is that he is telling me he made a mistake selling me the item and he wants to keep it. The funds I sent him bailed him out and I have waited patiently to be paid off. I then asked for the item and he has refused to send it. It's easy to tell me he should not have sold it once the heat is off by paying his bills with my money.

I agreed to give it back to him at first since it appeared I would receive my funds back quickly, however after almost 2 mos, I have not received anything. He blames the economy. However, the items he has listed will hardly sell for what he has listed them for. The economy has little to do with that.

I made an arrangement and should the time frame pass and I do not receive the item, I will give the details. I am hoping it will not come to that. I wish he had listed it on some site i.e. audiogon or ebay as I would have been able to seek their assistance. Since it was not listed on either site, I am unable to seek their assistance. I am sure Audiogon or ebay would have suspended his priveleges until he sent me the preamp.

No. I will not publish the name etc. unless the agreed upon time to pay me in full expires.

here is the email he sent me when he was sending me the preamp. Hindsight, I should have accepted delivery and kept it. My error.

It is a sad day indeed to part with it...but going to good home and welcome your assessment.

if willing, do let me know before you re-sell (hopefully some time down the road) on odd chance I can afford to buy back...

I deleted names and tracking no. When I read it and prior to sending it back, I asked if he really wanted to sell it. I had only purchased it to help him out with some expenses that were behind. He had other equipment that I knew he could sell. He indicated he wanted to keep it and he would sell the equipment. "he would do anything to keep it". He listed items, but as I stated, the prices he is using will hardly result in a sale. Needless to say, he has not sold a thing.

Now the preamp is sitting in his hands again, his bills paid with my funds and I am waiting patiently for him to show the same courtesy and care I showed. I waited and then told him a week ago, if he did not have it paid by either the end of September or the first week in October, I wanted the preamp. I knew it was tight for him so I thought it was easiest on him to just send me what he had sold me. He refused.

He then wanted me to send him another item for a pair of speakers that retailed the same as the preamp itself. I turned down that offer since I was sending him items that were twice as much as the speakers. I told him I would take the speakers as payment in full since they were worth the same as the preamp he is holding. He refused. I told him I was insulted being offered 50 cents on the dollar which is what his offer was....it more or less seems he wanted more for the preamp and he should have not sold it to me for what I paid. No one twisted his arm.

I still am an optimist that I will get my funds. Time will tell. I just don't want to be told that the economy is the problem. He sold me the preamp. I gave him a chance to keep it. Just pay me off or send the preamp.

And yes. I do not recommend paying with a money order..... and I now will not even use a money order with friends or I thought were friends.

And No. I can not place a stop payment on a money order/ draft. The only way would be to swear that the money order was stolen and the rightful payee did not get the money order. I can not do that as that would be a lie. It is for that reason, I do not recommend a money order. You are at the payees mercy and if you do not get the item, you have a long road to recovery.

Will keep an update to progress. thanks
