For those of you experiencing this issue... Sony has posted on their website that they are covering out of warranty repairs, at least that is what I thought when I started down the road with Sony for my TV!

Unfortunately in my case they have refused to cover the problem because my model number is off by 1 year, though the part being covered is the same identical one found in the post model and the symptoms are identical to the website pictures(blue dotts and blue fog).

But some good news has been brought to my attention, a class action law suit is being formed to help those who have not received satisfaction pertaining to this particular problem...

Just thought I would pass it on to others that find themselves in a similar predicament.


Lastly I just want to add, in the past I have been a long time supporter of Sony products(tv's & audio gear, etc), actually still have a SONY SCD-1 that has center stage in my audio system. But going forward I will NEVER AGAIN buy another Sony product after this latest experience with Sony customer service!! And as we see(eg; pending litigation against Sony) others have had enough as well.
