When I ran my first audio business, AS was the distributor for Sutherland phono stages. One of the "new" units, when opened by my customer, was defective. He found a note in the box describing the defect by a previous customer. So AS didn't even both to inspect the contends of the returned unit or bother to test/repair it. Just sealed it up and put it back into new inventory.Several decades later, this seems to be a long running business policy.
