Any way to find an Ebay ID if you only have an email address?

I saw this post on General and the suggestion, but it seems Ebay will only give out an ID if you've conducted or are conducting a transaction with the person.
Anyone know a way around this? I am looking to find a person's Ebay ID, but only know the email address, and have never conducted a transaction.
I do not want to go the obvious route of emailing him to ask.
